Summer March 10
19th March 2010
Summer has been great, autumn in the air!
Kiwi Paka has had a great summer. We have loved the travellers
and groups rolling into town.
Tri New Zealand came for a training camp in February and
made us all feel it was time to get on our bikes. They loved the
Rotorua redwoods and spend lots of time cycling round Lake Rotorua
and improving their swimming skills in the Aquatic Centre.
Australearn American students stayed in February also.
They go to University in NZ for a semistar.
After five nights at KiwiPaka they had a taste of our culture
and people! Each team spend a day on a community based project.
One group painted and cleaned the paths at Whakarewarewa.
Another group marshalled at the Mayoral Bike Ride, and reading and
maths at Rotorua Boys High School. It was great for them to
meet each other and for us to meet them.
New Zealand Womens Rugby is in for a training camp in April. We
are looking forward to that.
The mountain biking has been superburb, even on the hot summer
days it is still cool on the single track. Seven blokes from
Melbourne came and rode for five days. Loving every day 100% better
than an office. I spotted them enjoying a shot of coffee by
the Outdoorsman Headquarters.
The last few mornings have been a bit fresher autumn in the air
but the days are still really hot and sunny! Compulsory outdoor
time to enjoy all the things Rotorua has on
offer.
Take some time out and spend a night or ten!
Cheers
Treen, Malcolm and the KP Team
